Introduction
Check Valves are used in refrigeration and air-conditioning where the liquid or vapour refrigerant must flow to several components but never backwards in a given line. In such installations a check valve is needed. As its name implies,
a check valve checks or prevents refrigerant flow in one direction while allowing full flow in the opposite direction.
Heldon manufacture a time proven range as well as supplying Mueller’s Check Valves in select sizes. This arrangement enables Heldon to offer a check valve range with optimum flow characteristic and superior checking ability with minimal leak rates. The Heldon / Mueller range are specially engineered to offer a high Kv value therefore ensuring a low pressure drop.
The brass bodies are forged in the larger sizes with copper extensions on the smaller solder sizes. To optimise the sealing efficiency the 2001 and 2006 series have a soft neoprene seat while the larger valves seat is made from heat-stabilised Teflon. The larger valves have a reusable neoprene o-ring seal allowing them to be easily dismantled for installation or servicing.
Suitable for Liquid, Suction and Hot Gas lines with all fluorinated refrigerants these valves are dampened against chatter in low pressure drop situations.
